IF THE EYES WERE A VIGNETTE OF BEAUTY...

If the eyes were a vignette of beauty
The beautiful ones today would be ugly
The curves and the bosom won't matter
Neither will the heavily built biceps and triceps

Dressed in theatre gowns and boots
The pot bellies are hidden
Clad in face masks and googles.
The ragged dentition is disguised.

The light shines through the theatre bulbs
Reflecting in their sclera
By Illuminating the iris
It gives the desired sparkle in their eyes.

The pointed noses and high cheek bones
The chin curtain shave and sleek weave
Swatch wrist watches and stiletto heels
Bare no meaning within this four walls

The eyelashes bat in affirmation
Of the beauty of this creature
The eyebrows rise in awe
Of this aesthetically pleasing being

The manner of expertise while operating
The flawless attention to detail
All fit the basic requirement
Of the imaginative ideal husband

If the eyes were a vignette of beauty
I would be married by now
Not to the tall, dark and handsome hunk
But to the pair of eyes in a theatre gown

  1. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... Of course, the person who said such famously apt words must have known that true beauty is only recognized by the eyes, because therein lies beauty itself.

  2. Indeed all flaws are hidden underneath that gown but they resurface after the gown is removed. Great work.

    1. Lol... Sad truth. I'm just basking in the euphoria of the moment. Thank you :)
